BLT Now Included In Ballast Disconnect Plug (BDP) Phase Out
The Lithonia Lighting® commercial indoor group will be phasing out the ballast disconnect plug (BDP) on the BLT troffer effective October 21, 2020. All new orders from the factory will be shipped with the BDP up until that date.
The BDP is not required to be installed on LED fixtures by the manufacturer per NEC code 410.73(G) – “Disconnecting means a BDP is only required on ‘fluorescent luminaires (fixtures) that utilize double-ended lamps and contain ballast(s) that can be serviced in place or ballasted luminaires that are supplied from multiwire branch circuits and contain ballast(s) that can be serviced in place’.”
BLT specification sheets will be updated during the phase-out transition of the ballast disconnect plug. The BDP will still be available as a factory installed option or as a field installable accessory. Please refer to the BLT spec sheets for ordering information. If the contractor would like to order BDP as an accessory and install it in the field, please reference the CI Code below.
