SPANL Production Update
After much consideration, Lithonia Lighting® has decided to stop production of the SPANL™ specification flat panel until further notice due to a non-safety related issue.
SPANL is an incredibly innovative product that requires highly sensitive and technical design elements. Acuity engineering has determined that design modifications are needed to manufacture with consistent performance at high production rates. These changes will provide our customers a product and service the market expects from Lithonia Lighting.
We understand you may have questions. We have attempted to answer as many as possible upfront (see below). Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate this together and come out with a product and the service that we are all proud of.
FAQ
- What should next steps be?
- Check your SPANL order backlog and convert orders to another Lithonia Lighting product. EPANL is suggested if a highly configurable panel is needed. ENVEX is also available if a specification grade troffer would be a better fit.
- Check any specifications currently written around SPANL and convert to ENVEX or EPANL.
- What will happen if agents do not update an order in backlog?
- For orders that are not updated or converted, customers will be contacted for next steps and suggested alternative solutions.
- Projects that have SPANL already installed, what do I do?
- We fully anticipate that product installed will function safely and for the full length of the warranty period, so no action is needed.
- Will SPANL still remain a specification grade flat panel?
- Yes, our commitment to providing a specification grade panel with regressed frame, 3D options and configurability has not changed.
- Will 360 volumetric distribution remain?
- We are still working to determine a path forward and a plan around the 360° volumetric distribution, more will be shared as we finalize designs.
- When will the redesigned SPANL launch?
- We will announce the launch date once the design and testing are finalized.
