Website Update, September 22
It’s time for another web project update, and we have much to tell you regarding recently completed projects and important work that’s under way. First, we’re happy to report that the new websites for our Mark Architectural Lighting™, Winona® and Gotham® brands are now live.
In addition to their new design, these sites feature a new component in the search function. This component allows us to display filters in order of relevance for each product category page and to show attribute values in order of relevance or search frequency. For instance, rather than being alphabetized, attributes in the Light Source filter can now begin with LED rather than less popular choices. Over the next two weeks, we will be adding this new component to the search function on our recently migrated Juno®, Indy™, Aculux™ and Peerless® brand sites. And it will be included in the new Product Selector tool that’s coming soon for the Acuity Brands site.
Site Migrations
The Healthcare Lighting website will be the next to migrate. We plan to have the new site built and launched by mid-October. And project planning is under way to determine the next websites to migrate. We’ll have more about that in our next blog post.
Other Improvements
Acting on user feedback, we have adjusted the search parameters and it now function as it should. With this improvement, users who type partial search terms will now get more and better related search results.
User feedback also led to improvements in our Building Information Model results. Previously, only four brands were able to display BIM files, and the files were not automatically updated. Now all brands that have BIM files are included, and the data is being automatically updated nightly to ensure current information is always available.
Backlog
We currently have a backlog of 145 requests, compared to 150 at our last update, and we have completed 180 requests in the past two weeks.
