RFD Continuous Improvements

Please be advised of immediate changes to the RFD process and RFD agile tool. These enhancements are intended to provide better visibility of the effort, costs, and lead times associated with processing RFD’s.

These changes take effect on Tuesday, 02/24/2015.

Levels of Complexity
On the dashboard, one can now see the Complexity Level required to process the RFD requests. The definitions of each level can be viewed by hovering over the respective field.

Lead-time Clarification
The RFD e-mail response will exhibit the breakdown of the lead time to both develop and manufacture an approved RFD from the time we receive an order. The ‘total time required’ will be highlighted to show the cumulative estimated lead time in business days.

ABL Sponsor
This is a new field that allows the requestor to list an ABL representative that may be engaged in the opportunity. This person can be contacted by the RFD processor to gain additional insight as needed.

Developmental Costs
Costs associated with the engineering, testing and/or certification will be listed as a separate line item on the quote, order and invoice. These costs are non-recurring and should apply to the initial order associated with the requested modifications. These lines will be non-commissioned.
